Seaford Man Charged With Stealing from Little League


A 44-year-old Seaford man was accused of stealing more than $7,800 from a little league, Nassau County police said.

Richard Barry twice illegally transferred funds from the Levittown-Wantagh-Seaford Little League into his personal home mortgage account, to pay a loan to JP Morgan Chase in October 2009, police said.

Barry was employed by the league at the time.

Crimes Against Property Squad detectives charged Barry with grand larceny.

He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Friday.
