The weekend’s storm has caused major beach erosion at Jones Beach and Robert Moses State Park.
State Parks Department spokesman George Gorman said the entire sand area at Jones Beach was under water Sunday.
Gorman said it would take weeks to clean the parks up and restore the sand.

In addition, all the trails at Long Island’s state parks were closed because of fallen trees and tree limbs.
Gorman said at least 100 trees came down at state parks on LI during the storm.
Some parts of Long Island received nearly 4 inches of rain over a 48-hour period.
