May 6th is Nurses Day or National RN Recognition Day or National Recognition Day for Nurses— but whatever you call it, just make sure you thank a nurse today. Nurses Day is the lead in to National Nurses Week, which ends on May 12th, the birthday of Florence Nightingale.

Now, if you’re a student nurse, you get a double whammy. National Student Nurses Day is celebrated each year on May 8th. If you’re a school nurse, you also get second helpings. The Wednesday within National Nurses Week is National School Nurse Day. And if you are a nurse who hails from abroad, well, International Nurses Day is celebrated all across the globe on May 12th.
