A construction accident claimed the life of a 63-year-old Atlantic Beach man in Inwood on Thursday morning.

Nassau County police said the man, whose name was not immediately released, was doing roofing work at a medical building on Doughty Boulevard when he fell about 40 feet from the roof at 11:30 a.m.

The worker was pronounced dead at the scene. There does not appear to be any criminality, according to Fourth Squad detectives.
