NYC Man Charged With Leaving Scene of Valley Stream Crash


A Queens man was arrested for leaving the scene of a car crash in Valley Stream on Monday morning.

Nassau County police said Fulvio Mora, 39, of Jackson Heights, was driving a Mitsubishi southbound on Rockaway Parkway when he struck a Honda at the corner of West St. Marks Place, causing the Honda to flip over at 7 a.m.

Mora, who suffered minor injuries, left the scene and returned a short time later, police said. The driver of the Honda was not injured but his passenger suffered severe injuries.

Fifth Squad detectives charged Mora with leaving the scene of an auto accident with serious physical injury, an uninsured motor vehicle, unlicensed operator, reckless driving, speeding and passing on right. 

He will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
