A drunken-driving 42-year-old Amityville man was arrested after he was caught speeding at 105 miles per hour on the Meadowbrook State Parkway early Saturday, New York State police said.

Hugh Arthur was stopped while driving his Mercedes southbound just north of the Southern State Parkway at 2:40 a.m., police said.

Arthur had glassy, bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol, police said. 

After he failed sobriety tests and was found to have a blood alcohol content of .11 percent, Arthur was charged with driving while intoxicated and traffic violations, police said.

He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on June 24.
