After years of being taunted by drool-worthy commercials for Sonic Drive-In, Long Islanders may soon be able to satisfy their cravings at a number of locations in both Nassau and Suffolk.
After a North Babylon location was announced to open in Spring 2011, a rep for the company has confirmed a Sonic Drive-In franchisee is scouting possible additional locations in Massapequa, Smithtown and East Meadow.

But so far, they’re still only looking. No additional locations have been selected yet. The exact location of the North Babylon drive-in has yet to be announced.
Here’s hoping that we’ll no longer have to drive upstate or (Heaven forbid) New Jersey to get our Extra-Long Chili Cheese Coney fix served to us by a carhop.

why would u make a sonic in smithtown make one closer to the majority of the people on long island not out in smithtown

I cannot wait for Sonic to come to Long Island! I love Sonic so much! Every time I go on vacation down south, that is the first thing I check, if there is a Sonic near-by. I cannot wait for Spring 2011! i am so sick and tired of being tortured by all of the commercials!
