Driver Killed in North Lindenhurst Crash


A car crash claimed the life a 46-year-old Bay Shore man in North Lindenhurst early Wednesday morning.

Suffolk County police said an eastbound Nissan Maxima went out of control on Sunrise Highway and struck two poles near the 44th Street intersection, flipped over and came to a stop in a parking lot at 12:04 a.m., witnesses told investigators.

The driver, Eric Shaw, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was later pronounced dead.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
