Two Nassau County workers have quietly lost their jobs after they were accused of stealing four iPhones from a county office building last week.
Frank Derosa and Matthew Long were charged with burglary and criminal possession of stolen property.

Nassau County police said the two Department of Public Works employees stole the Apple smart phones from the county’s information technology office on the 6th floor of 240 Old Country Road in Mineola at 5:30 p.m. on July 22.
Third Squad detectives arrested the duo the next day after investigators found the phones listed for sale on Craigslist, according to Detective Sgt. Anthony Repalone, a Nassau County police spokesman.
Derosa, 40, of Glen Cove, was a plumber for the county for three years. Long, 22, of Bellmore, was a seasonal employee. Long was fired and Derosa was forced to resign, according to a spokesman for Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano.
Derosa stole two phones at first, then called Long, who went back to the office to steal two more, Repalone said. At least one phone has been recovered, he added.
Both men were released without bail following their arraignments at First District Court in Hempstead. Attorney information was not on file for either suspect.
Long is due back in court on Sept. 16. Derosa is due back in court on Aug. 24.
