Principal Life Insurance, the life insurance company of Woodmere motivational speaker Jeffrey Locker, has filed a federal lawsuit saying that they will not pay the $4 million claim because Locker had lied about his income and other things when he bought the policy.
Kenneth Minor, the suspect in the killing of Locker, who was stabbed and choked to death last summer in East Harlem, has told police that Locker paid him to stage the murder as a robbery so family could collect the insurance. Locker was heavily in debt at the time of his death, and apparently planned farewell videos for his children and sent an email to his wife on how to protect their assets from creditors after he died.
Minor faces second-degree murder charges and has pleaded not guilty.
