Cops: Pet Sitter Caught on Camera Burglarizing Home

Nassau County police are urging residents that may have hired a Westbury man to watch their pets to check if their belongings have been stolen.

Frank Catanzaro was caught on camera stealing from one of his client’s homes after the victim hired Catanzaro to take care of pets while the victim was away on vacation and later noticed cash missing from a bedroom, police said. The victim called police and investigators set up a surveillance video camera to catch him in the act, police said.

The 44-year-old was charged with three counts of burglary in connection with three separate incidents over the past month.

Those in the Westbury area that have hired the suspect to watch their pets while they were away on vacation are asked to contact Third Squad detectives at 516-573-6353.
