Medford Man Convicted of Sober Home Assault

A Medford man was convicted Wednesday of assaulting a man at a Central Islip sober home last year.

Lourriston Potter, 31, was found guilty in Suffolk County court of beating Daniel Brennan with a wooden table leg during an altercation at a sober home on Willow Street on Jan. 3, 2009.

Prosecutors said they will recommend a sentence of 15 years to life for Potter, who is eligible for persistent felony offender status because of prior convictions for drug possession and grand larceny.

Brennan received treatment at Southside Hospital for head, neck and facial injuries.
