The 45th annual Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon that took place from Sunday night to Monday night over Labor Day weekend raised $58.9 million dollars for Muscular Dystrophy research according to telethon officials.

The highest amount ever raised by Jerry Lewis’ annual MDA telethon was $65 million in 2008. Last year the telethon raised $60.5 million.

Dozens of performers joined the nearly 24-hour event, including Enrique Iglesias, WAR, Five for Fighting, Lynyrd Skynryd, Jerry Lewis, David Archuleta, Barry Manilow, OneRepublic and many guest hosts.

Jerry Lewis, 84, ended the  2-day telethon by singing his signature song, “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”
