A Valley Stream man was arrested on Monday for two unrelated incidents involving traffic altercations, Nassau County police said.
On May 24, Malik Mackey, 18, was a passenger in a car travelling westbound on Peninsula Boulevard in Woodmere that was abruptly changing lanes in front of a 22-year-old woman’s car. When both vehicles were stopped at a red light, detectives say that Mackey exited the car and poured a bottle of water onto the woman. When the woman got out of her car, Mackey allegedly picked her up and threw her into the eastbound lanes of Peninsula Boulevard. This caused several cars and trucks to have to swerve to avoid hitting the woman. She was not injured.
On August 2, Mackey was riding as a passenger in a car near Lawrence Avenue and Broadway in Lawrence when he allegedly got out of the car and began yelling at a 19-year-old man in a car. According to detectives, he then grabbed the man by his shirt and punched him in the face numerous times. The man required medical attention due to his injuries.
