A Selden man was accused of committing a dozen burglaries in the past month after he was arrested Tuesday for having a hypodermic needle, Suffolk County police said.

The officer that arrested Wakendo Heath believed that he fit the description of a suspect wanted for the burglaries of businesses in Selden and Centereach between Aug. 8 and Sept. 6.

After an investigation, the 21-year-old was charged with 12 counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary.

Heath will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
