A mail carrier has been accused of stealing 7,000 discount coupons intended for residents’ mailboxes.

Thomas Tang of Baldwin allegedly stole the J.C. Penny coupons he was supposed to deliver to the department store’s customers between October 2009 and January of this year, Nassau County police said.

The 38-year-old man then sold the coupons on eBay, police said.

Tang was charged with grand larceny.

He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday and was ordered held on $5,000 cash bail.

His attorney was not immediately available for comment.
