The “American Idol” contestant, Casey Abrams, was rushed to the hospital and is reportedly battling ulcerative colitis an inflammatory bowel disease.
The show’s host, Ryan Seacrest, announced his condition to viewers, after the live broadcast began last night, saying he was “unfortunately sick,” and suggested the audience “wave to him,” saying, “we know you’re watching, buddy, feel better.”
Abrams took to Twitter to thank his dedicated fans for the well wishes.

Abrams, 20, is currently at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in California and has reportedly received a blood ransfusion during his visit.
Idol castmate, Crystal Bowersox tweeted a message to Abrams, ” @CAbramsAI10 stay in this game, Casey. Don’t be afraid to say no sometimes. I’m rooting for you.”
He responded, ” It means a lot coming from you. My health is always first, but this is my dream, I’m going to keep fighting to stay in.”
Have no fear, Abrams made it into the top 12! He tweeted 30 minutes ago, ” by the way, I just realized…I’m in the top 12! Thanks for voting me into the competition everyone. I owe all of you a big bear hug.”
