Coulter brings conservative rebuttal to Wyoming
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Ann Coulter was bringing her edgy brand of conservatism to the University of Wyoming Thursday, a year after the school drew widespread criticism for its handling of an appearance by Bill Ayers, a Vietnam-era radical who is now a professor. Coulter is known for her biting criticism of liberals through her television appearances.
Former NBA ref charged with attacking Wilkins
ATLANTA (AP) — A former NBA referee was charged with attacking Hall of Famer and Atlanta Hawks television analyst Dominique Wilkins in a dispute over a clothing bill. Carlos Campos, an Atlanta police spokesman, said 36-year-old Rashan S. Michel was released early Thursday on $1,000 cash bond after being charged with two counts of simple battery.
Farrakhan: Gadhafi no monster, has helped Muslims
CHICAGO (AP) — Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan is reiterating his defense of Moammar Gadhafi, saying the embattled Libyan leader isn’t the monster being portrayed by the Western media. Farrakhan held a rare news conference Thursday, where he criticized the U.S. government and President Barack Obama for launching military action against Libya without justification.
