Huckabee criticizes Obama at NRA keynote address

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee called himself a “gun-clinger and a God-clinger” but didn’t come close to saying whether he’ll be a Republican presidential candidate next year when he delivered the keynote address Saturday at the annual National Rifle Association convention. Huckabee was referring to a remark President Barack Obama once made about conservatives clinging to their guns and religion

Nats 3B Zimmerman out 6 weeks with abdominal tear

WASHINGTON (AP) — Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman needs surgery for a torn abdominal muscle and is expected to miss six weeks. The team says Zimmerman will have surgery Tuesday. He originally went on the 15-day disabled list April 12 with what the Nationals said at the time was a strained abdominal muscle



Power wins pole for IndyCar’s Sao Paulo 300

SAO PAULO (AP) — Will Power of Australia is four for four in IndyCar poles this season and will start at the front the Sao Paulo 300 in defense of the title he won in the inaugural race last year. Power timed 1 minute, 21.896 seconds in his Penske on a hot Saturday afternoon on the 2.5-mile, 11-turn Anhembi temporary street circuit in South America’s biggest city.



Semenya wins 800 for 3rd gold at University meet

STELLENBOSCH, South Africa (AP) — World champion Caster Semenya secured a comfortable victory in the 800 meters final at the South African University Championships. She won her third gold of the meet Saturday and ended her domestic season unbeaten in the two-lap event.



Bulls’ Rose says he hasn’t been informed he’s MVP

DEERFIELD (AP) — A heavy MVP favorite, Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose insists the NBA has not informed him he is the winner. He said “No, not yet” Saturday when asked if he had been told he won the award. Rose’s comment came a day after a congratulatory post on teammate C.J
