Streisand OK with Calif. selling donated estate

MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — Barbra Streisand says she understands that California has to sell her donated 22-acre Malibu ranch to help balance the state budget but hopes the buyer will preserve its “special habitat.” The singer released a statement last week about Gov. Jerry Brown’s decision to put Ramirez Canyon and other state-owned properties up for sale.

WASHINGTON (AP) — New York Congressman Anthony Weiner has hired a lawyer to help him figure out how to handle the spectacle that has surrounded him since a lewd photo was sent from his Twitter account. Weiner spokesman Dave Arnold said the Democrat believes it was a prank.

NEW YORK (AP) — Tribeca Film and ESPN are establishing a video-on-demand sports film festival. Tribeca and ESPN announced Tuesday that the Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival will debut June 23 and run through Aug. 25.
