Fans of Piper Perabo don’t have to wait much longer to see her in action once again.

USA Network’s hit CIA thriller, Covert Affairs, is set to begin its second season next week, with Annie Walker taking us back into the world of espionage.

Covert Affairs had a successfull run during its first season and its star actress, Piper Perabo, earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Annie Walker. Walker and her blind sidekick, Auggie, will return on June 7.

During the first season, Perabo’s character was a rookie CIA agent, who can speak a number of languages, and seems to always have the upper hand in one-on-one combat with men, twice her size.

And learning to fight that way doesn’t come natural.  According to a Fox blog, Perabo said the cast goes through training on a daily basis, and before the first season started, her style of fighting was carefully chosen because “I am a women, and I only weigh so much, and I’m not a superhero,” she said.

The first season opened with Walker on a beach with her boyfriend—Ben Mercer—who turned out to be a CIA operative as well.  Walker—who was training to join the agency at the time—was unexpectedly promoted to field operative at the beginning of the season.

Over the course of the first season, viewers saw Walker going off on missions in far off lands, as she tried to maintain a relatively normal life back home.  Walker became frustrated at times trying to maintain her cover identity as a Smithsonian antiquities buyer.

Last time we saw Walker she was returning from a mission with Mercer in Sri Lanka.  She begins this season as the new handler for a professional tennis player from Estonia.

USA’s White Collar also premiers next week.

Both shows will air on June 7, with White Collar airing at 9 p.m. and Covert Affairs immediately after at 10 p.m.
