Eva Longoria has her first girl-on-girl scene in the new indie comedy “Without Men,” a film adaptation of the James Canon novel “Tales From the Town of Widows.”

In the film, which hits theaters July 29, Longoria plays a lesbian town mayor in charge of a Latin American village. The village lost all of its men as guerilla revolutionaries forcibly recruited them. As a result, the women are left to fend for themselves.

According to Huffington Post, the comedy looks utterly hilarious as it looks at women taking over undesirable roles that men usually fill in society. It demonstrates the challenges of the so-called “male roles,” in society yet is centered around a comedic plot line. The only remaining man in the community is a priest, played by the Oscar Nunez, star of “The Office.” Although most of the sexual play in the film is between the women, later in the film Christian Slater, playing an American journalist, sparks a romance with Longoria’s character.

So who’s the other woman? Longoria’s steamy lesbian moments in the film are shared with co-star Kate del Castillo.

Director Gabriela Tagliavini told Fox News, “It was a little difficult as the two girls are both straight so they were very nervous and laughed a lot.” She continued stating “But I think that just made it even lovelier. [Female Audiences] don’t want to watch porn, so it was all very sensual, both are very beautiful women aside from being incredibly funny.”

According to Fox News, Nunez’ character in the film is quite hilarious as well. He acts a highly-respected yet extremely dishonest Catholic priest who believes it is his “holy duty,” to impregnate the countless women in the community who are without a man in their lives. His interaction with the multitude of hilarious female comedians in the film is set to make this a box office hit.

Tagliavini told Fox News reporters that, “The film is essentially about leadership. Being bossy will not get you the same response as if you’re team leader. And when women come together for a common goal, it works great.”

This film like “Horrible Bosses,” and “Bad Teacher,” demonstrates a strong female comedic lead which seems to be a new trend for summer hits in the box office.
