
The rewards for information leading to an arrest in the recent cases of a recently impaled swan and turtle have increased to more than $10,000 each.
Suffolk County SPCA officials said that public outrage over the two cases on the East End in the past month has sparked a spike in donations.

A $12,500 reward is being offered for information on the case of a turtle found in Sag Harbor on July 5 with a 10 penny nail driven through it.

An $11,000 reward is being offered for information on the case of a swan found shot with an arrow near Indian Island Park in Riverhead last Friday.
Roy Gross, Chief of the Suffolk County SPCA called the acts of animal cruelty against wildlife disturbing.
Both animals were treated at Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center in Hampton Bays.
