Who hasn’t read a Shel Silverstein work?

“Yes we’ll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we’ll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends,” reads Silverstein’s “Where The Sidewalk Ends.”

“Where The Sidewalk Ends” and “A Light in the Attic” made Silverstein a most famous author and poet while also delighting readers across the globe.

Silverstein died in 1999 of a heart attack, but that hasn’t stopped a posthumous piece.  This week, Silverstein fans got another dose, even after his death with a new Silverstein work called “Every Thing On It.”

The work includes much of his unpublished work and comes as the second original book to be published since his death. It contains more than 130 never-before-seen poems and drawings.

According to inquisitr, “Every Thing On It” is set to be a delight to Silverstein fans although it ends on a sad note, “When I am gone what will you do?/Who will write and draw for you?” reads a line.

The book was officially released today through HarperCollins and will be available at most book stores nationwide.

Throughout his career, Silverstein published over 15 works. And along with authoring poems and books, he was also an award-winning songwriter. For his “A Boy Named Sue” he won a Grammy in 1970. He was also nominated for an Oscar and Golden Globe for “I’m Checkin Out” and was inducted posthumously into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002.
