A shocking new photo of Michael Jackson’s corpse was released on Tuesday.

The photo was released during Dr. Murray’s trial that began Tuesday. He’s being charged with involuntary manslaughter in Michael Jackson’s death and could face four years in prison and lose his medical license if convicted.

The photo was revealed during the opening arguments, when prosecutor David Walgren showed the courtroom a 2009 photo taken of Jackson following his death on June 25, 2009. The pop star can be seen lying in a hospital bed, wearing a hospital gown.

Additionally, the prosecution played an audio recording on Murray’s iPhone just over a month before Jackson’s death, that shocked the courtroom. It revealed a very incoherent Jackson, slurring his words as he spoke about his upcoming tour, that he would never perform in.

According to reports Jackson’s family including his parents were present and reportedly seem stunned by the recording. In the audio, the most disturbing factor is that Murray’s voice can reportedly be heard in the background.

Murray’s defense is that he isn’t to blame for Jackson’s death and that while he was not present, Jackson gave himself a lethal dose of sedatives and propofol that killed him.

According to ABC, Jackson was preparing for a huge comeback tour when he died in 2009—The tour was to kick off that fall and be his first in over ten years. During the trial jurors will hear from Jackson’s tour director, Kenny Ortega, who shares his account of Jackson’s demise and how he tried to help bring awareness to his deteriorating health.
