A man was shot dead at a deli near his home in Huntington Station Saturday evening.

According to Suffolk County Police, at around 10:18 p.m., officers got a call reporting a man had been shot at a Huntington Station deli. Officer responded to Los Campos Deli, located at 161 Depot Road to find that the victim, 26-year-old Michael Fredericks, of Huntington Station, had been transported by a friend to Huntington Hospital. At the hospital, Fredericks was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

The investigation is ongoing.
