“Im Fine, This Will Only Make Me Stronger…Tough Times Never Last But Tough Ppl Do,” tweeted former New England Patriots player, Tiquan Underwood after being cut on the eve of the Super Bowl.
In a harsh move by New England Patriots, the wide receiver was cut Saturday just before the big game.
In total, the player will reportedly have had three catches in five games during the 2011-12 season.
The player will have a chance to claim his ring for his work helping the Pats get to the Super Bowl. According to the Associated Press, if the Patriots do in fact win, Underwood would be eligible for a championship ring.
As the news broke, Underwood took to Twitter. He tweeted about motivation, and that he would be just “fine” while still cheering on his former team.
“This Is Nothing But MOTIVATION….” he tweeted.
“Good Luck To The New En(g)land Organization, The Coaches, & All My Teammates,” he tweeted.
“THANK YOU Everyone For Your Support & Sympathy,” he tweeted.
Underwood even tweeted to one former teammate in particular:
“Its Finally GameDay… Rooting For The Pats & One Of My Best Friends @McCourtyTwins (Dmac) # 32 Get That Ring Bruh#PatsNation #MHK,” he tweeted.
Reportedly, the move will give another wide receiver a better chance during Sunday’s game. Chad Ochocinco would become active. The Patriot’s other wide receivers include Wes Welker, Deion Branch, Julian Edleman and Matthew Slater.
The Patriots made another move Saturday as they said goodbye to one, they said hello to another. According to reports, the Patriots signed defensive end Alex Silvestro from their practice squad, just in time for the Super Bowl.
