Two masked gunmen tried to hold up a check cashing store in Huntington Station on Sunday evening but were thwarted by the teller, Suffolk County police said.
The assailants told the teller at RIA check cashing store on New York Avenue to hand over cash, but because the store has bulletproof glass, the teller did not comply with the demands at 7:25 p.m., police said.
The would-be robbers fled empty-handed southbound on New York Avenue.
