Long Island Rail Road trains in and out of Manhattan are experiencing delays Thursday morning due to a broken rail in one of the four East River tunnels.
At least four westbound rush hour trains were diverted to either the Atlantic Avenue terminal or the Huntersport Avenue station in Brooklyn, and one train was cancelled in Jamaica.
Riders were forced to transfer to Subway trains to get to their Manhattan destinations.

An LIRR spokesman said the repairs are expected to be completed by 2 p.m. and should not impact the evening rush hour commute.
