Rockville Centre Woman Charged in DWI Crash


An alleged drunken driver was found to have more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in her system after she crashed her car on the Southern State Parkway in North Lynbrook on Tuesday morning, New York State police said.

A Trooper who responded to the Honda Accord crash on the eastbound side of the parkway near Franklin Avenue found the driver, Jacqueline Drake, to be under the influence of alcohol at 6:17 a.m., police said.

The 39-year-old Rockville Centre woman failed sobriety tests and was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.17 percent, more than double the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Drake was charged with driving while intoxiated and traffic violations. She is due to appear at First District Court in Hempstead on March 9.
