Even President Barack Obama wants to be a part of the new “Call Me Maybe” viral video trend. Well, maybe not exactly, but if you take a look at the “Barack Obama Singing Call Me Maybe” video you’ll see why it seems that way.

YouTube user Barackdubs has been turning the president’s speeches into pop songs. The user responsible for making the “Barack Obama Singing Call Me Maybe” vid describes the work on his site as mashing “up presidential speeches to the tune of popular music, based on commenter requests.”

The video is already going viral with nearly 400,000 views. Barackdubs skillfully pieced together parts of Obama’s speeches in order to make it sound like the hit song. He even slowed down certain words in his speech so that it would go with the song.

In the beginning of the viral hit, it seems like the president is in the middle of giving a typically speech. He says, “I love you back.” It then becomes clear that this is not like any other Obama speech when the “Call Me Maybe” music begins to play.

Obama “sings,” “I threw a wish in the well, don’t ask me, I’ll never tell. I looked to you as it fell, and now you’re in my way. I’d trade my soul for a wish, pennies and dimes for a kiss. I wasn’t looking for this, but now you’re in my way. Your stare was holdin’, ripped jeans, skin was showin’. Hot night, wind was blowin’. Where you think you’re going, baby?”

And even continues into the chorus, “Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here’s my number, so call me, maybe?

The president has been known to sing a tune or two at fundraisers, do you think he’ll be giving a live rendition of “Call Me Maybe” in the near future?
