R&B singer Usher’s stepson, Kyle Glover, has reportedly been left brain dead after he collided with a personal watercraft while riding on an inner tube on Lake Lanier in Atlanta over the weekend.

The 11-year-old son of Usher’s estranged wife Tameka Foster has not experienced any brain activity since he was hospitalized on Friday, according to celebrity news website TMZ.

Glover was riding in the tube when a 38-year-old-man riding the PWC struck Glover on the head, knocking him unconscious.  Kyle was riding on the inner tube with an unidentified 15-year-old girl who is in critical condition with serious injuries.

Authorities airlifted the two victims to Children’s Healthcare at Egelston Hospital, where doctors declared Glover brain dead later that day. No decision has been made regarding life support.

Usher and ex-wife Foster are in the mist of a heated custody battle over sons Usher V and Naviyd. In the meantime, Usher arranged for a jet to take Foster to the hospital where her son is being treated.

Foster has not left her son’s side since her arrival. Usher arrived later that day. The two are reportedly putting their disagreements aside for the moment.

Usher and Foster were married from August 2007 until November 2009. The relationship further deteriorated amid the ensuing custody battle. Glover’s biological father is Ryan Glover, an Atlanta-based clothier.

The Department of Natural Resources is investigating the incident using computer simulation programs to determine exactly what happened. No charges have been filed.

After the investigation concludes, the findings will be sent to the district attorney, who then will decide what course of action to take. Alcohol has been ruled out as a factor.

The family has not yet issued an official statement and Usher’s representative was unable to be reached for comment. Fellow celebrities have offered an abundance of prayers.
