Massapequa Park Fire Kills 1

Nassau County police Arson/Bomb Squad detectives are investigating a house fire in Massapequa Park that killed a man early Wednesday morning.

More than 100 firefighters responded to the fire on Van Buren Street just after 1 a.m., police said, and discovered the victim on the second floor of the house. The man, who was not identified pending family notification, was pronounced dead at 2:50 a.m., police said.

“The fire is considered non suspicious at this time and the investigation is ongoing,” police said in a news release.

Nobody else was injured in the blaze, police said.
