SENTENCED: Former Nassau County Police Department Second Deputy Commissioner William Flanagan (seen here following his March 2012 surrender) was sentenced July 15 to 60 days in jail for conspiracy and official misconduct charges stemming from his role in quashing the investigation of his friend’s son’s burglary. The execution of the sentence was stayed pending his appeal of the conviction.
