A 40-year-old woman was killed when her car flipped in her hometown of Eastport on Thursday morning.

Suffolk County police said Heather Petrie was driving a Ford Mustang southbound on County Road 111 when her car veered off the road into the median, overturned and landed on the northbound lanes at 7:45 a.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Seventh Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information to call them at 631-852-8752 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.  All calls will be kept confidential.
