A Christmas Day shooting in Medford left one man dead and three others injured after a masked gunman shot four people early Wednesday morning, Suffolk County police said.

The shooting erupted at 3:30 a.m. inside Whitestar MTR on Cedearhurst Avenue, police said. Officers responded after a 911 caller reported that masked men entered the business and demanded money before opening fire—striking four people, one fatally.

The victim who suffered a fatal gunshot wound, 19-year-old Taleik Bristel of Pathcogue, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Three others were rushed to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said. They were not identified.

Police did not say what sparked the shooting.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS or the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.

Correction: Police incorrectly reported the name of the business where the shooting occurred. It has been corrected.
