William Christie lost control of his Jeep as he exited Sunrise Highway eastbound at Exit 59, causing the truck to overturn, at 3:26 a.m., police said.

His passenger, Michael Demartino, also of Manorville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Christie was charged with driving while intoxicated. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
