A gunman repeatedly shot and seriously wounded a 23-year-old man who was walking down a street in broad daylight in the victim’s hometown of Freeport four weeks ago, Nassau County police said Thursday.

First Squad detectives are asking for the public’s help in finding 20-year-old Ali Jones, also of Freeport, who they alleged fired a handgun at the victim, striking him several times with gunfire on Randall Avenue at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4.

Jones, who is wanted for attempted murder, fled the scene in a silver Mercedes Benz ML350, police said.
