An 83-year-old man who was reported missing over the weekend was found dead in the water off Long Island five days and about 10 miles from his Queens home, according to police and reports.

Nassau County police responded to a report of a body being found near Motts Creek off Doughty Boulevard in Inwood at 920 a.m.

New York City police identified the man as William Braxton, who was last seen in Jamaica noon Saturday, the NYPD told WPIX11.

The investigation is continuing while medical examiners perform an autopsy to determine Braxton’s cause of death.
