Four men have been arrested for their alleged role in a Bayport home invasion during which a man was assaulted on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.

Two men entered the house on Bayview Avenue through an unlocked door, confronted a man inside, assaulted the victim, and then fled after stealing cash and jewelry at 12:25 p.m., police said.

The victim ran to a neighbor’s house and tried to follow the suspects, who got into a waiting white Honda on Connetquot Road and drove away.

Highway Patrol officers stopped the car as it was heading westbound on Sunrise Highway in Bohemia about a half hour later, police said.

Those arrested include 20-year-old Osman Flores of Central Islip, 18-year-old Ramone Beauford of Bayport, 19-year-old Nelson Vanegas and 17-year-old Javier Gonzalez, both of Brentwood.

Each was charged with burglary. They will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.

The victim went to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where he was treated for non-life threatening body and facial injuries.

Fifth Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
