A 63-year-old ice cream truck driver from Middle Village has been accused of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl who made a purchase from him in Wyandanch last month, Suffolk County police said.

Muhammad Chaudhry was charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said Chaudhry was selling ice cream on May 21 when the girl approached his truck around 7:25 p.m. Chaudhry allegedly “fondled the child” during the transaction, police said in a news release.

He was arrested Wednesday following an investigation by Special Victims Section detectives.

Investigators declined to reveal how they were alerted to the incident.

Chaudhry was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip.
