A 93-year-old man who was found unresponsive in a pool at his Huntington Station home on Friday evening later died, Suffolk County police said.
A relative of Curt Thiele called 911 after the victim was discoverted at the bottom of the pool at his Stafford Drive home at 5:25 p.m., police said.
First responders pulled Thiele from of the pool and started CPR before he was taken to Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim’s body was then taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
