Nassau County police have identified a 44-year-old man who drowned in a public pool in his hometown of Woodbury over the weekend.

Jonathan Sobel was swimming in the main pool at Syosset Woodbury Park before he was found floating face down at 1:25 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Lifeguards pulled the victim from the pool and performed CPR.

The victim was taken to North Shore Syosset Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Second Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
