5 Killed in Southern State Parkway Crash

Five people were killed, including three children, when a Brooklyn woman crashed her car on the Southern State Parkway in North Babylon while driving home from a family gathering on Saturday night.

Myriam Lebrun, 37, was driving her Honda Accord westbound when the car ran off the roadway, struck a tree and burst into flames near exit 38 shortly before 11 p.m., New York State police said.

Lebrun was pronounced dead at the scene, along with 68-year-old Moise Yolande, 14-year-old Marcus Jeanty, 9-year-old Marcel Jeanty and 8-year-old Kayla Jeanty, police said.

Police are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash, which is unknown at this time
