Hempstead Shooting Leaves Man Dead

A 25-year-old man was shot and killed near the Long Island Rail Road station in his hometown of Hempstead on Wednesday morning, Nassau County police said.

Hempstead village police officers responded to a report of shots fired at the corner of Morrell Street and Morton Avenue, where they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at 9:40 a.m., police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead a half hour later. His identified as Ehrik Williams.

No arrests have been made and there no description of the shooter was available. Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
