Port Jefferson Station Woman Dies After Car Crash

An 80-year-old Port Jefferson Station woman who was involved in car crash in Selden over the weekend has died.

Suffolk County police said Augustina Daredakis was driving her Honda southbound on Dare Road and was making a left turn onto Middle Country Road when her vehicle was struck by a westbound Kia at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Honda then struck an eastbound BMW driven by Antonio Santiago, police said.

The victim was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she later died.

The driver of the Kia, 23-year-old Kimberly Tarantino of Selden, was taken to the same hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the BMW, 70-year-old Antonio Santiago of Selden, was not injured.

Sixth Squad detectives impounded the vehicles, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have information on this crash to call them at 631-854-8652.
