Bay Shore Man Accused of 2 Gang Shootings in 4 Days

U.S. Marshals have apprehended a reputed MS-13 gang member who investigators linked to two shootings within a four-day span on the East End, authorities said.

Albino Dejesus Medina was arrested and charged with assault for allegedly twice shooting 19-year-old Deyvi Perez in the back in the victim’s hometown of Riverhead on Oct. 10, Riverhead Town Police said.

The 20-year-old Bay Shore man was also charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon in an Oct. 14 shooting on South Harbor Road in Southold, authorities said.

Four other suspects were previously charged in that case. Investigators later learned that the same gun used in that case was used in both shootings. Bail for Medina was set at $250,000.
