West Babylon Crash Leaves Teen Dead

A 17-year-old Deer Park girl died after the car she was riding in crashed into a house in West Babylon on Sunday night.

Suffolk County police said Aramis Broadus, 19, of Wheatley Heights, was driving a Nissan Maxima northbound on Little East Neck Road when he lost control of the car, hit a utility pole and then struck a house near Gordon Avenue at 8:50 p.m.

Broadus and the three passengers in the vehicle, Kenya Jimenez, 18-year-old Chyna Adams and 20-year-old Robert Jones, who are also from Deer Park, were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.

Jimenez died nearly five hours later. Adams and Jones were treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Broadus was treated for minor injuries. Nobody inside the home was injured.

The Town of Babylon Fire Marshal and Building Inspector condemned the home due to the extensive damage to the structure.

First Squad detectives impounded the vehicle, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information about this crash to call them at 631-854-8152 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
