A 52-year-old man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car in his hometown of Huntington over the weekend.
Suffolk County police said Michael Awamy was riding a Kawasaki Ninja eastbound on Jericho Turnpike when he struck a westbound Nissan Sentra that was making a left turn onto Sweet Hollow Road at 4:15 p.m. Friday.
The victim was taken to Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other driver, a 17-year-old Central Islip resident, was not injured.
Second Squad detectives impounded both vehicles and are continuing the investigation.
