Police in both Nassau and Suffolk are investigating a pair of fatal car crashes in which two pedestrians were struck and killed over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

In the first case, Nassau Police say that Saul Palacios, 33, of Hempstead was crossing Clinton Street at the intersection of Dartmouth Street in Hempstead at 6:03 a.m. on Nov. 28 when he was struck by a Nissan driven by German Concepcion, 23, of Hempstead. Homicide Squad detectives say that the victim was taken to Winthrop University Hospital where he was pronounced dead while Concepcion was charged with driving with a suspended license and his vehicle was impounded for a safety check.

The next day, Nov. 29 at 6:06 p.m., Riverhead Town Police responded to a fatal car crash on Pulaski Street in front of St. Isidores Church in Riverhead where Alexandre Vvedenski, 52, of Riverhead struck Edward Perricone, 82, of Riverhead, with his vehicle. Perricone was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital and Vvedenski was charged with driving while intoxicated.

The two cases come as police in Nassau and Southampton continue their search for a pair of hit-and-run drivers that left two dead one weekend prior. Nassau Police are still searching for the driver of an SUV who killed 29-year-old Victoria Cuadros of Inwood, who was run down as she crossed Morris Avenue with her 6-year-old son on Nov. 21 at 4:56 p.m. The vehicle was described as a maroon or brown Chevrolet Tahoe or GMC Yukon with dark tinted windows, oversized tires and chrome wheels. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.

Meanwhile, Southampton Town Police are still searching for the driver who ran over 71-year-old Stella Tascon of Jackson Heights, Queens, as she crossed Flanders Road at the intersection of Cypress Avenue in Flanders, where she was visiting a friend, on Nov. 22 at 5:22 p.m. There were no witnesses that could provide any information about the vehicle in that case and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police ask that anyone with information call the TIPS Hotline at 631-728-3454. All calls will remain confidential.
